Royal Holloway Wedding
This Royal Holloway Wedding couldn’t have been any more perfect. Mike and Rosanna studied, met, AND got married on the Royal Holloway grounds. The university had huge well-kept buildings made of bright crisp orange bricks. The grand surroundings and warm weather felt just as a summer July evening should. I took photos of the epic backdrop upon arrival and couldn’t help but notice the royal feel that the main building had. Its architecture was elaborate and intricate with huge pathways.
The Morning of the Wedding
The day started with the girls getting their hair and makeup done. The bridesmaids were wearing a classic dark navy dress with a halter neckline. Rosanna got a pampering, as should any bride, with a hair and makeup artist. She was helped into her dress before two of the bridesmaids laced her up! Rosanna wore a tiara that complimented the broach and completed her grand wedding day! The chapel they got married in was perfectly matched to the opulent vibes of the wedding. Just as impressive as the grounds, the chapel had high ceilings with three magnificent stained glass windows at the far end where they made their vows. There was religious ornamentation, a large isle, and parallel seating that felt like a royal Catholic wedding… and of course, how could there not be a string quartet!
The couple made their way outside for formal photographs and to mingle with their guests, but before leaving the incredible chapel, I took them back inside for some photos. We just had to make the most of the incredible location! When the couple made their way outside, red petal and rainbow confetti was thrown all over them.
There was in fact, a special guest waiting for Mike and Rosanna when they went outside. They were paid a surprise visit from a very furry best friend – their dog! The family got photographs together outside and everyone mingled, drank wine and ate canopies. There was even a football table and badminton set up for guests to have fun.
We had the grounds to play around in so we took all the guests over to a huge, outside staircase. The party stood on the stairs and the terrace, surrounding the couple, and in front of a grand entrance, which made an awesome photograph!
The party made their way inside where there were long rows of tables and chairs for guests to sit at. There was a gin theme throughout the dining area with gin bottles being used as flower vases. I took the couple’s portraits a little later on in the evening than usual, just before the speeches. The sky looked like a painting with a crisp blue colour and fluffy pink/purple clouds. It was a beautiful sunset so I encouraged Rosanna and Mike to really let loose and have fun with the photographs. I took their pictures by the flower beds, in the courtyard, and on the terrace – there was no lack of great picture opportunities!
The party started and most of the guests were straight up on the dancefloor. Even the minor interruption of the fire alarm couldn’t stop these wedding guests having fun!
